Welcome to The Waterfestival Liveshow

Most of the information on these pages is in Swedish, but here you will find a summary in English with an explanation of what is shown on the different pages. Even if you do not understand the text, there are pictures for you to look at.

Startsida - The index page with short info about the show and the show’s SR models. Here you can also see the BIS (Best in Show), BIS Reserve, and the Novice BIS from the previous year.

Årets Show - This year’s show, or the show from the previous year (depending on when you view it), with pictures of all the champions leading up to the BIS. Here you can also find the show catalog and the results, complete with points. This year/page will also be found under “Showhistorik” (Show history).

Vinnarhistorik - History of winners. An overview of all the winners from the start in 1995 until the present year.

Showhistorik - Show history, just like in the “Årets Show” (This year’s show). Here are listings of all the shows from the start in 1995 until the present year, as complete as possible. Some pictures are sadly missing from the early years, but we are hoping to collect them in time.

What's in a name?

From 1991 to 1999, a street festival called the Water Festival was held every August in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Each year, the festival ended with the “Waterchampion,” a fireworks competition. When Anne-Li decided to host her own live show in the end of the summer of 1995, it felt natural to “jump on the name train” and thus “The Waterfestival Liveshow” was born. Some years, the showers went into the capital for a ride on the “Purpur Order” boat to watch and admire the fireworks.

Some twenty years later, the show has developed into one of Sweden’s most regularly held live shows, with many prizes and strong organization. In 2001, Therese Wolmer showed her models for the first time in the Waterliveshow. In 2013, when everything began to feel like a little too much for Anne-Li to handle by herself, Therese helped her out and became the co-host.

Although the show’s name was never officially changed, the name has been shorted from “Vattenfestivalsliveshowen” to “Vattenshowen.”

Over the years, the number of entrants has ranged from four to twenty (keep in mind that the Swedish Model Horse Society has around 50 members). Nowadays, a set number of fourteen can sign up for the show. Showers have come from as far away as Finland and Norway, and even farther.

The show’s location has moved to different parts of Stockholm, including the fancy Sturegallerian in central Stockholm. Most commonly, however, the show’s base is Fiskarhöjdens Kvartersgård, located in Fisksätra outside Stockholm.

Vattenshowen has often been a proving-ground for new approaches to model horse showing, and has introduced new methods that today are seen as standard. The Waterlive can also proudly claim the first Swedish live show special run – Rana. She was followed by Yamm, Davy Jones and Pontus. Hopefully there will be more to come.

Vattenshowens Special Runs

So far the show have had five SRs, three in earthenware, one in resin and one as a card for the model horse game Best In Show. These have only been able available for purchase for show attendees. In a few cases you have been able to win one of these SRs. In case of the card, it was given to showers and to donors.

In the case of the SR for 2019, Pontus, we hope that IF you have one, and have it painted that you also send a image in for us to admire in a special Pontus gallery. Please contact Therese for more information on what type of picture is wanted.
